Roberta helps clients engage and integrate strategies for improving their self-awareness, resiliency, and overall confidence. Her clinical background includes working with clients who have experienced abuse, major losses, or other overwhelming events. She also helps clients with managing anger, depression, sleep disorders, new fears, and troubled relationships.
Roberta is sensitive to the effects of trauma, which can impact victims long after the incident. She works directly with clients who often have difficulty expressing their experiences directly and effectively. She is passionate in exploring the interrelationships between mind, body, and spirit and how to integrate these experiences for healing and recovery.
She works directly with clients and their families to clarify their specific concerns to achieve their goals, often using cognitive behavior, creative arts therapy, and mindfulness with restorative retelling to transform the wounds into new strengths and gain insight into the physical, emotional, and social effects of trauma.
Roberta is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), art therapist, and former special education teacher with many years of experience working with children, teens, young adults, adults, and the elderly. She specializes in treating clients with mild traumatic brain injury, survivors of traumatic loss, anxiety, ADHD, autism, depression, disability issues, school problems, as well as facilitating group therapy.
