Angela Lujan, LMHC, CMHS is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Child Mental Health Specialist. Angela has worked over the last several years with families with children ages two years old to early adulthood, helping navigate various family relational hardships and conflict. Angela has also work with youth and adults individually who struggle with interpersonal relationships, bullying, self-image issues, anxiety, depression, self-harm, grief and loss, trauma, learning disabilities, behavioral disorders, concerns with school performance, and various other emotional and behavioral challenges. Angela’s experience in using various assessments also allows her to help her client build and achieve measurable goals.
Angela is passionate about her work and has a strong client-centered approach using theoretic disciplines such as cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and trauma focus work. Her positive attitude and energy has helped her build strong client relationships that aids in her therapeutic work. Angela also enjoys art and uses creative expression as a tool with children and adults to help navigate strong emotions and cope through difficult times that aren’t always easy to express in words.
Angela’s clinical training also includes the positive parenting program, which is an evidence based program for helping families navigate behavioral challenges with children ages two to eighteen, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy for trauma, anxiety, and depression. Angela also has a strong working knowledge and practical experience in working and coordinating with various systems such as; educational services, juvenile courts, family courts, substance abuse programs, and social services.
